Abstract

A behavioural and theoretical interpretation of the gravity model is presented. Focus is the accessibility. First the distribution function is interpreted as the judgement of the accessibility of the one area related to the other area, dependent from distance, travel time and travel costs. Starting from his point equilibrium factors can be interpreted as reciproques of the average accessibility of the origin and destination areas from all other areas.
