One of the major goals of current Dutch transport policy is the reduction of the growth in car traffic. A promising way to achieve this is a better coordination between the traffic and transportation system and the location of employment. Industrial plants, public facilities, offices for business or government, they all generate mobility of persons and goods. In order to operationalise this policy, the . typology of so- called A- , B- , and C- locations has been developed by the Dutch Physical Planning Agency in the Netherlands.
