Abstract

A number of hypotheses are made to determine the mobility pattern, such as degree of urbanisation, income, and household composition. Children are a main factor. Households without children use more often public transport, households with children often use the car, old people and other working persons without children often go on foot. The use of the bicycle and bus increases when the level of income is lower. There is a big difference between cities with different degree of urbanisation in the use of the public transport and the car.
