Abstract
The industrial nations are currently taking steps to ease the life of old people and invalids. The major problem is whether or not to make all installations accessible or whether, on the contrary, it is preferable to limit the cost of alterations to and construction of fixed facilities and rolling stock by providing special means of transport suited to the needs of invalids.
