Abstract
A collection of articles is presented on the many hindrances (both scientific and social) that are felt by many who are engaged in the humanities with respect to the relevancy of the acquired knowledge. The articles are symptoms of dissatisfaction with the existing situation in the Dutch scientific milieu and present alternative ways of thinking in the fields of education medicine, psychology, sociology, literature and philosophy.
