Abstract

One outcome of the Geelong Bike Plan was the development of the Bike Ed course. This has been an extremely useful resource to use in schools to help teach bicycle safety to the 9-13 years age group. This kit however, should not be seen as the only way to achieve this end and the education of this age group in schools is only part of the Education objective of the Bike Plan. The role Bike Ed has played is reviewed and some additional aspects of the education component of the Bike Plan are considered.
