In 1967 the National 6afety Council collected andanalyaed the exiating bicycle eafety program lite-rature. In 1968 a pilot study was conducted to de;tarmine the uee of bicycles bij eohool aged chi pdren and in 1969 an exteneive bicyole aocidentistudy was undertaken by the NSC in six geogra-phically different areae.
