Bicycle commuting potential in Canada.

Abstract

The bicycle as a commuter mode is not viable for eight months of the year in Canadian cities due mainly to the severe winter weather. Many cities have physical barriers such as steep hills and restricted bridges. The major thrust for bicycle pathways should be aimed at maximizing their recreational potential.
