Abstract

Bicycle theft in New South Wales is a crime that for the past few years has been on the increase. The problem that police are faced with is not the stealing of the bicycle but the returning of the bicycle to the rightful owner. This paper describes a bicycle identification programme which has had resounding success since its implementation.
