Bicycle injuries : one-year sample in Calgary.

Abstract

The use of bicycles is on the increase and bicycle-associated injuries are also increasing. The injuries are not minor: 70% of those injured in this study has cranio-cerebral trauma. In only 20% was there collision between bicycle and automobile. The vast majority of the injuries was sustained by the young of our society. The bicycle is no longer just a toy for every child.
