Abstract

A network of cycle routes could be rewardingly developed by each borough, without great expense. A detailed examination is needed of the footpath network, environmental areas, both extant and planned, and open or disused places. Potential cycle routes can then be identified. It will be necessary to accept a compromise between the highest standard of ideal cycle way design and standards of pedestrian and vehicular provision.
