Bicycle Route Planner: A Project Aiming at Guiding Cyclists in Daily Life.

Abstract

This paper presents a web-based route planning application aiming at cyclists; taking in to account elevation and using an energy model based on 3 different types of cyclists. The suggested route between departure and arrival is displayed on a map along with estimated time and energy consumption; percentage of dedicated bicycle lane is also shown. Up to 10 course points may be added along the route. The application includes all the dedicated cycle lanes and all the streets and roads that are allowed for cyclistsin the city.
