Abstract

A fifth of commercial-vehicle drivers questioned in a research project have admitted that they occasionally fall asleep at the wheel. Most get away with it, but for some, dreams give way to the nightmare of an out of control truck. Breaks can delay the onset of fatigue, not overcome it. The objective of legislation should be to stabilize work schedules.
