Abstract

In the last few years movements to promote public transport and to make bicycling more popular can be seen in Switzerland. This paper describes briefly the introduction of the green card, a low- price pass for unlimited travel in the city and suburbs of Basel. Other stimulating measures as for the transport of bicycles, bicycle parking, bicycle rentals and shared areas are mentioned shortly.
