Skullcaps of 15 men and woman, who died between the ages of 37 to 82 years, were tested with an impact bending tester. Conclusions from the data of impact bending breaking energy are: the logarithms of the breaking energy are distributed normally; the impact bending strength of skullcaps decrease with age for females significantly, but does not decrease for males; areas of greater resistance to impact (e.g. frontal bone) are separated through areas of less resistance (e.g. coronal suture).
