Abstract

The overall thickness of skullcaps was determined. On the average the thickness is 5.8 mm. There are significant differences between different areas of the skull and between the skullcaps of men and woman. With increasing age the thickness of skullcaps decreases in females, but increases in males. There is a high correlation between the thickness of skullcaps and the resistance to impact (0.80).
