Abstract
Transportation Research Record 1789 includes a comparative study of laboratory and field performance of several applications of crumb rubber-modified hot-mix asphalt in Louisiana. Other research in the volume focuses on a historical overview (covering 1939-2001) of the challenges of gyratory compaction, a comparison of fundamental and simulative test methods for evaluating permanent deformation of hot-mix asphalt, and the application of digital image correlation method to mechanical testing of asphalt-aggregate mixtures. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 81th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2002.
