Abstract

A method of subjectively recording traffic conflicts or near accidents has been developed by TRRL for identifying safety problems and evaluating countermeasures, primarily at road junction.This paper states the established conflict definitions and describes in detail the method of collecting conflict data and the way in which the data are used by many local highway authorities.
