Abstract
From 2000, moped riders within built-up areas in the Netherlands will be asked to move to the carriageway. At locations where this is not possible, the cycle path can be given the status of a compulsory cycle/moped path. On the basis of testing criteria, a methodology has been drawn up. Using this methodology, the possibilities for (not) allowing mopeds to ride on the carriageway can be determined. The methodology is applied in the municipality of Gouda.
