Abstract

In 2004, the Accident Investigation Board Norway (AIBN) was expanded to include a new section on road traffic. The ambition behind this expansion was to generate new knowledge that could be used as basis for new measures in road safety work. This report deals with how the knowledge generated in the new section is taken up and used by other actors in the road safety field. We find that although most of the AIBN's safety recommendations are being followed up, there is still room for improvement in this process in order to make optimal use of the knowledge produced.
