Abstract

Vehicle & equipment manufacturers have been conducting in-depth studies of multiplexed systems. To-date, such systems, mainly for economic reasons, have yet to reach series production and consequently the specific electronic components are not commercially available. The particular problems encountered in the wiring of buses and coaches has prompted ACTIA to develop a hybrid multiplex system, using readily available "off-the-shelf" components. It is technically applicable to today's problems and results in economically attractive solutions. An application will be discussed which demonstrates the advantages of using an automotive data bus (ADB) system. (A)
