Due to the high accident rate of bus drivers in the Punjab in Pakistan a study was done with seven drivers and two instructors from the Punjab Urban Transport Corporation. They were subjected to a driving licence test of the standard of U.K. test for learner drivers applying for a car licence. All drivers and instructors failed. They were then subjected to a very extensive of course of 4 days. At the end of this training, drivers and instructors were given the same test again. All nine failed again the whole test. The driving standards in the Punjab are so low that more th days of re- training are required.
