Abstract

In the report, each of the Chapters is devoted to a, different type of bus priority. The Chapters of the report describe the working of the priority and discuss the practical details involved. They also provide guidance on the suitability of the schemes and indicate where there are gaps in the present knowledge. Wherever possible, the benefits to be obtained from such schemes, and the costs involved are estimated. Appendix I contains information on selected samples of working schemes to illustrate the different types of priority. Research related to bus priority is described in Appendix II of the report.
