Abstract

To improve the criteria for bus service beyond the rule that is currently in operation (the determination by means of a normative alloration rule) not only the actual demand should be taken into account, but also more of the latest needs of people who are living in small, relatively deprived communities should be revealed. The paper presents a method for attaining a bus service level criterion that takes into account at least part of the temporal aspects of travel demand.
