Abstract
An information report on planning for bus transport in urban areas is presented. A short description of the present state and development of bus transport is given. It is illustrated how the design and location of new built-up areas can be adapted to bus route layout, and the advantages and drawbacks of bus traffic on different types of streets and roads are also discussed. The detailed design of roads is considered and examples are given of the design of road sections, bus stops and turning points.
