Abstract

The Bustaxi is a demand actuated public transportation system, using a small processor for system control. An algorithm allots the demands for transportation in a way that total discomfort is minimized. An incoming demand is provisionally allotted to a bustaxi, whose provisional route will be changed. Because of this, an earlier allotment can be reassigned to another bustaxi. The allotment is finalized on the moment that the relevant route instruction has to be given to the bustaxi.
