Abstract

Axial impacts of the right and left femurs were performed on nine unembalmed human cadavers. A load cell was implanted in the right femur to measure the internal axial force. The applied force of the impactor was also compared to the axial force measured in the right femur load cell. Results indicate that the ratio between applied and femoral force remained constant for the cadavers regardless of impact conditions.
