Abstract

A mathematical treatise is given in order to determine the amount of light on square areas underneath a light source or a string of light sources. A monogram is presented for rapid determination of the light intensity depending upon the angle to the light source with the normal. Some examples are given. There is also a method of calculation of lighting intensity on triangular areas, to be used for public squares.
