Abstract

The possibility of significantly improving street lighting in the vicinity of an optical observatory without greatly increasing the sky luminance led to the calculation of the distribution of haze luminance due to two components of light from street lighting, namely reflected light from the lighted surfaces of streets and walls, and light emitted above the horizontal by street lanterns.
