Abstract

The main reasons for installing video surveillance in public transport vehicles is to increase the safety and security of the passengers, the drivers, and other personnel. Another reason is to reduce the amount of damage and graffiti in the vehicles. Many technical difficulties as well as product development ideas have surfaced and been resolved during the project. With all different vehicle types, each one is almost a whole new project. Cooperation between the public transport authority, operators and police isnecessary to achieve the desired results. The complexity between human behaviour, privacy laws, financials and these ITS-solutions is, a really interesting challenge. For the covering abstract see E134653.
