Abstract

The increase of bicycle usage on American campuses is discussed, with emphasis on bicycle facility planning considerations, operational and safety considerations, and experience with special facilities such as bikeways and bike storage lots. The practicality of bicycle transportation is emphasized due to the smaller relative right-of-way requirements of bike facilities.
