Abstract

A microscopic Monte Carlo simulation model of a two-lane, two way highway, SIMTOL, is presented. This model, developed during the last four years, is intended as a tool to assess more accurately the magnitude of the factors for capacity determination. The model operates by processing individual vehicles in their journeys along a two-lane road for which grades and no passing zones can be specified.
