Abstract

For the city of Granada a Mobility Plan is introduced. With the help of public participation the following working lines were developed: (1) quantity, quality, situation and structure of systems of transport; (2) traffic exchange with the metropolitan area; (3) location and arrangement of equipment; (4) location and density in residential areas; and (5) location and density in the working areas (in the centre). The appoach to residential areas in Granada can not be limited to the creation of isolated, car-free areas. It is necessary to create a clearly defined pedestrian network which, if necessary, domains over private motorized traffic.
