Abstract

Demonstrations and businesses in the last 12 years have shown important and succesful new markets for Car Sharing and Mobility Systems in Europe and North-America. Some of the challenges are the simplification of system usage for the customer, so he or she demands these intermodal services and mobility packages as part of a modern and convenient lifestyle. Furtheron the automatization of business processes in order to get efficient and competitive, and the speed of growth and expansion in order to gain critical volumes. ITS supports the implementation and business of various car sharing products based on different target groups. ITS customizes Mobility Services and Mobility Packages where Car Sharing plays one role among other modes of traffic. Due to complexity of the system and partners, due to efficiency, and due to high customer's expectations of easy applications standardized system ITS and organization of the operation will determine the success of that new market (critical path). National and international Market Standards, Product Standards, Service Standards, Organizational and Technical Standards will/must support the building process for successful Integrative and Combined Mobility Systems. One (or more) Consortiums and/or Technical Forums on Carsharing and Mobility Technology shall be started. (A*)
