Abstract

In order to become successful in assisting vehicle drivers (and passengers) with a wide range of services enabled by an in-car telematics platform, three more or less independent developments should be brought and bound together: technology, vehicle driver (and passengers) preferences and commercial viability of both platform and services. Bringing and binding together these three developments is the topic of this paper. Service applications for a set of services which are commercially interesting for the service providers themselves have been developed on the reference system coming from the Global System for Telematics project (GST; focussed on an open telematics platform). For the covering abstract see E134653.
