Cars in collision-safe structures.

Abstract

Collisions have been more frequent and have involved many more injuries in the United Kingdom. However, actual deaths have remained steady at about 6500 per annum during the last 30 years. This is mainly due to the new safety concept of cars. The body-cell structure is more strengthened the bumper design is changed, the use of seat belts is improved, the design of engines and fuel tanks are changed, etc.
