The case of Linköping, Sweden.

Abstract

Linköping is situated 250 km south of Stockholm, is a university city, has county administration, industry and has 90.000 inhabitants. In 1974 protests were raised against the road plan, including a link through a greenbelt close to the university area. A traffic planning project was started in order to study alternatives in a master plan for traffic Proposals for automobile reduction were given. Some details and their effects of the plan are described shortly.
