Abstract

This booklet was designed to furnish evidence that seat belts reduce fatalities and the severity of injuries caused by automobile crashes. The data were obtained from various studies of vehicle crashes and their effect on vehicle occupants. They illustrate and document the extent and nature of the protection offered by seat belts.
