Abstract

This paper outlines the achievements and the results obtained during a three-year study on the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) supported key project named the Study of Theories and Methods for Urban Traffic Flow Guidance System (UTFGS). This project provides theoretical basis and technological schemes for traveller information and Dynamic Route Guidance Systems (DRGS) developed with respect to the real traffic data obtained from urban Traffic Control Centre (TCC) under the mixed traffic condition in the urban areas of China. The architectures, the basic theories and the implementation technologies are briefly presented in this paper.
