Abstract

This fact sheet provides a summary and initial analysis of personal injury road traffic collisions and casualties in Greater London in 2009 compared with 2008 and the average for 1994-1998, which is the base period for the Mayor’s 2010 casualty reduction targets. Data presented is for personal injury road traffic collisions occurring on the public highway, and reported to the police, in accordance with the Stats 19 national reporting system. More detailed information and analysis will be available in two forthcoming reports Towards the year 2010: monitoring casualties in Greater London (Issue 10) and Collisions and casualties on London’s roads 2009, which will be published later in the year.
