Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to elucidate and expand on the categorization of disabilities as they specifically relate to the driving task. The example of an amputee to derive the design parameters characteristic of a given disability is given. A lengthily table detailing the categories of amputation is included, and a discussion of the table in relation to driving and automobile is presented.
