Abstract
Four specific topics of transportation planning are discussed: land use modelling, travel forecasting, impact analysis, and data maintenance and updating. The first three topics deal with selected applications of census materials to particular kinds of modelling activities. The fourth is concerned with the separate, but related, problem of the maintenance and updating of these materials over time.
