Abstract

A series of four centrifuge model tests was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of a single line of discrete piles in stabilising a cutting slope in uniform clay. Various numerical techniques were used to back-analyses the results of the model tests. In this report, the testing procedure is described and the results are presented and discussed with reference to finite element analyses and previously published work. (A)
