Cerebral motion and head tolerance.

Abstract

A new lumped model of the head is proposed and applied to impact studies, in order to characterize the relative brain- skull motion. It was concluded that the role played by brain motions in head tolerance is very important because it allows one to describe the injury mechanisms as a function of shock characteristics.
