Abstract
This short article describes a project to find better methods of helping young people with cerebral palsy to get a driving licence and to make driving easier for them. Getting a licence can be a complicated and laborious process, as a trainee with cerebral palsy needs almost twice as many lessons. Driving in urban traffic presents the most problems. This study promoted a test to determine whether a person will be able to get a licence, precluding unnecessary training. The study also investigated technology uses to make driving easier, including adaptive speed control, electronic route guidance and alternative controls.
