Abstract

Specific additional tasks of the Council of Europe Pompidou Group's project on "Drugs in Road Traffic" consisted of surveying and assessing the status of the relevant existing infrastructures, regulations, procedures, and programs in the areas of enforcement, measurement, prosecution, and prevention within each of the 17 participating countries. The present paper reviews and summarises the cross-national results of these specific tasks and the challenges uncovered among the 17 participating member countries: the original 12 Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom; and the subsequent 5: Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Norway, and Portugal.
