Abstract

An investigation of the travel behaviour of tertiary stu- dents has been undertaken using data from surveys conducted in 1987 at the three universities located in Metropolitan Melbourne. The findings of the work include: the observation of significant differences between the three universities, a shift from private car usage to public transport by students at all three universities between 1972 and 1987, and a marked decrease in the differences in travel behaviour between male and female students over that 15 year period.
