Abstract

New car windshield construction, incorporating a thicker plastic interlayer and a less rigid bonding process, has resulted in a different pattern of windshield breakage. Because of this, the character of soft tissue facial injuries sustained on these newer windshields has also changed. The principles of treatment for soft tissue facial injuries sustained on pre- and post- 1966 windshields, are illustrated and compared.
