Abstract

The paper describes efforts made by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia to reduce human and financial costs resulting from road accidents. Particular reference is made to co-ordinated enforcement and awareness campaigns aimed at youth programmes. The projects are said to have concentrated on drinking-and-driving as well as safety belt usage promotions. Improvements in young driver accident involvement has been rated generally in excess of that for older drivers.
