Abstract

Drivers who come to the attention of police breath-analysis squads do not represent a cross-section of the general driving polulation, but appear to be a group which is deviant in both drinking and driving habits. The breathalyser may prove a valuable screening device for bringing those with drinking problems into a rehabilitative setting.
